How to create a free Zoom account

If this is your first time using Zoom, check whether your organization (i.e., OU and/or DHS) provides you with a company Zoom account, which you can access by signing in with SSO.

If you do not have an OU or DHS Zoom account, follow the instructions below to create a free Zoom account. If you already have an account, go to How to install Zoom or How to join a Zoom meeting.

  1. Open your web browser and go to zoom.us/signup. You will be asked to provide your birth year to verify that you are an adult. Enter your birth year and click Continue.

  1. Enter your preferred email address and click Continue.

  1. Zoom will send an email with a 6-digit verification code to the email address you provided in Step 2. You will have 10 minutes to enter the code before it expires. Enter the code and click Verify.

  1. Enter your first name and your last name, then create a password for your account. Your password must include at least 8 characters, with at least 1 number, 1 uppercase letter, and 1 lowercase letter. Click Continue.

  1. Congratulations! You’ve created your free Zoom account. Please note you may be prompted to log in to Zoom again each time you join a new meeting.

IMPORTANT: Be sure to keep your password safe and secure, and do not share it with anyone. You can only be signed in to Zoom on one computer, one tablet, and one phone at a time. If you log in to Zoom on an additional device of the same type, you will be logged out automatically on the first device.
