Evolve Authoring
Evolve User Guide
This is a collection of the available resources for the Evolve Authoring tool. Evolve is based on the Adapt authoring tool, and should function in a somewhat similar way to Adapt for those of you who are familiar and comfortable with that tool.
You can log in to the Evolve authoring tool here.
Evolve aims to be an intuitive, easy-to-learn tool for building courses while still allowing users to customize the courses to look and function in the ways they want. With that aim, Evolve has provided a number of different types of help for learning to use their product successfully.
Evolve Learning Hub: Evolve’s Learning Hub is the center for all of the resources they provide to help users navigate and master their tool. It contains elements like starter courses that a new user can work through to familiarize themselves with the course-building process, guides to different elements of the tool like themes and components, step-by-step articles, and sample courses to spark ideas and show all you can do with Evolve. Those are all linked here:
- Starter Courses
- Knowledge Articles
- Sample Courses
- Tips and Tricks Guide
- Theming Guide
- Component Guide
- Icons Guide
- Glossary
*Please note that you will need to be logged in to Evolve to use some of these resources, such as the starter courses and step-by-step articles.
In addition to the above resources, here are some others that might be of use with Evolve:
Help Collection: Evolve’s Help Collection provides guides to every step of building a course with Evolve, from setting up your account to building, customizing, and publishing courses using this product.
Community Boards: If you have a question that isn’t answered by any of the resources above, Evolve has community boards where users can interact with both other users and Evolve employees who can help to work through any issue or questions they may have. You can search old posts to see if the answers you need are there, or you can write your own post and get answers from the Evolve community in real time.
Evolve Authoring LinkedIn Group: Beyond the resources on Evolve’s own website, you can also join the Evolve Authoring LinkedIn group, which allows further interaction with other Evolve users and also includes posts with outside resources, like this course that provides more advanced tips for visual design and theming with Evolve.
Optimal Image Sizes to Upload to the Asset Library: This post offers additional information regarding image sizing within Evolve and how to choose images that will upload cleanly and work well within the parameters of the authoring tool.
Hopefully these links will be helpful for those of you who are working with Evolve. If there’s something else you’d like to know, or that has been useful to you that you’d like to see on this page, let us know!
