How to clear cache and cookies in Google Chrome

If you use the Google Chrome app to browse the internet, follow the instructions below to learn how to clear your cache and cookies.

  1. Open your Chrome browser and select the three dots in the upper-right corner.

  1. From the dropdown list, select Settings.
"Settings" is selected in the drop-down menu.
  1. The Settings page will open in a new tab. Select Privacy and security.

  1. Select Clear browsing data.

  1. Select the Basic tab on the left. In the Time range dropdown, select All time.
All Time is selected in the Time Range for Clear Browsing Data.
  1. Select Clear data. Then, close all open Chrome windows. After this, you can immediately reopen Chrome and continue working.

    To clear cookies specifically, follow the rest of the instructions in this guide.

  1. Select Cookies and other site data.
Under Privacy and Security, Cookies and other site data is highlighted.
  1. Scroll down and select the toggle switch to the right of Clear cookies and site data when you close all windows to turn on this option.

    When you close all open Chrome windows, your cache and cookies will be cleared automatically.
The option to Clear cookies and site data when you close all windows is toggled on.

Please note that removing all website data may log you out of websites and/or change websites’ behavior the next time you visit them.
