SATTRN credentials

Requirements

  • Must be at least 8 and fewer than 256 characters

    • Lowercase letters
    • Uppercase letters

Expiration policy and how to reset

SATTRN passwords expire after 120 days. You will receive an email notifying you to change the password three days before expiration, one day before expiration, and the day of expiration. If a password is not updated within 30 days of expiration, the account is disabled and the user receives email notification.

To reset your SATTRN password before it expires, follow the instructions in this video tutorial: How to change SATTRN password. Please note you need to know your current SATTRN password in order to use the Password Change Utility as demonstrated in the video.

If you have forgotten your SATTRN password, call the work stoppage phone number at 405-521-6166 to be connected to someone who can help reset it.

OU credentials

Requirements

As of October 2023, OU’s password requirements are:

  • Minimum of 12 characters
  • Must contain at least one upper AND lowercase letter
  • Must contain at least one numeral OR one symbol
  • Must be changed at least once annually (every 365 days)
  • Cannot be the same as your previous six passwords
  • Cannot contain the words boomer, sooner, qwerty, or password
  • Cannot contain your name or OUNet ID (e.g., Jane Doe would not be able to use “jane,” “doe,” or doe0023)

Expiration policy and how to reset

OUNet account passwords expire after 365 days. If you have gone a full year without changing your OU password, your access to all university services that require authentication with an OUNet account will be suspended automatically.

To reset your OU password before it expires, go to https://one.ou.edu/account/security and select Change password. This Account Settings security page is also where you can enter a recovery email address, which is highly recommended in case you are ever locked out of your account due to an expired password.

To reset an expired OU password, follow these instructions:

  1. Go to https://one.ou.edu/recovery/expired.
  2. You will see a page prompting you to enter your Username or OU email address.
  3. If you have previously set a recovery email address, you will be emailed a password reset link. Simply follow the instructions in the email and you’ll be all set!
  4. If you don’t have a recovery email address on file, you will be asked to verify some personal information and reset your password.

DHS credentials

If you are locked out of your DHS account because you’ve forgotten your password or entered it incorrectly too many times, you will have to contact the OMES Service Desk to reset your password. To do this online, try logging in to the Support Portal with your DHS Microsoft 365 email address.

If you cannot access the Support Portal or you’d rather call the OMES Service Desk, the local phone number is 405-521-2444 and the toll-free phone number is 866-521-2444.
