How to create a new shortcut
Option 1: Manually create new shortcut
In this example, the instructions will walk you through how to create a desktop shortcut for CPM Solutions. If you do not already have a shortcut to Solutions on your desktop, follow along with the steps below to create one.
- Go to the CPM Solutions home page. In the URL field at the top of the browser window, right-click and select Copy (or use the keyboard shortcut Ctrl + C).

- On your desktop, right-click and select New, then Shortcut.

- In the Create Shortcut window that opens, this is where you will enter the link (or folder, program, etc.) that you want to create a shortcut to.

- Since we are creating a shortcut to the CPM Solutions website, paste (Ctrl + V) the URL you copied in Step 1 into the location field. Click Next.

- The final step is to give the shortcut a brief, memorable name for easy identification once it’s on your desktop. In this case, you could name it simply CPM Solutions, or CPM Solutions Tech Help. After you’ve given your shortcut a name, click Finish.

- Your shortcut will now appear on your desktop.
- If the name is long, you may not be able to see the full shortcut name at all times, but the full name will be revealed whenever you click on the shortcut.
- If you want to change the shortcut name, just click on the text twice until a white editable field appears behind the text (don’t click too fast, otherwise it will be perceived as a double-click and the shortcut will open instead of letting you edit the name).
