Should I use Zscaler, Triton, or Janus-OU?
What is Zscaler?
The Zscaler Client Connector is OMES/the State of Oklahoma’s standard for virtual private network (VPN) connectivity. After you’ve logged in to Zscaler for the first time, Zscaler will remain in the background and provide you with VPN connectivity without having you do a single thing.
What are Triton and Janus-OU?
Both Triton and Janus-OU are virtual desktop interfaces (VDI) that allow workers to connect to a virtual DHS desktop. Triton is managed by CPM’s IT department (TC Support), and Janus-OU is managed by OMES.
What is the difference between Triton and Janus-OU?
CPM’s IT department (TC Support) at the Training Center (SATTRN) manage Triton, whereas Janus-OU was created by OMES. This means the TC Support team has more control over the Triton VDIs and can repair them or assign a person to a new one if there are problems. If there are problems with Janus-OU, OMES has to make the repairs or resolve any problems.
Who should use Triton?
Workers who cannot use Zscaler and/or workers with databases in Triton should use Triton.
Who should use Janus-OU?
Janus-OU is a backup for Triton.
If I don’t know which system to use, how do I find out?
Ask your supervisor which system is preferred in your contract.
