Grouping

If your course is going to contain any live elements in a classroom or you are planning on using interactive activities, you should consider if you want to use groupings for your learners.

Groups are helpful if you want to keep conversations separate between groups or have groups that need to collaborate on a project. You can also toggle this for any specific activity.

There are 3 settings for this option:

• Visible – groups can see other group’s work but cannot interact.
• Separate – group cannot see each other.
• None – there are no groups and everyone enrolled sees everything.

You can use groups as an instructor to address or give instruction to a small group using the news forum activity. Or you can use it combined with restricted access to control how groups of learners move through the course.
