Alfheim login trouble: Determining if a password issue is SATTRN or DHS

If you’re trying to log in to Alfheim and your credentials aren’t working, then you will need to find out whether the credentials are failing in SATTRN or DHS networks.

Test for SATTRN

If your All-in-One or laptop is working and able to connect to the internet, open your browser and go to https://Alfheim.sattrn.ou.edu, then log in with your SATTRN credentials. This should open the window shown below.

Work Resources window showing OKDHS remote login

If this window appears, then your SATTRN credentials are working.

If the Work Resources Screen displays the message “The user name or password that you entered is not valid” (as shown below), try entering your credentials again to make sure you have entered them correctly.

Error message: The user name or password that you entered is not valid. Try typing it again.

How to reset SATTRN password

If this message continues to appear and you’ve confirmed that you are typing in your credentials correctly, call the work stoppage phone number at 405-521-6166 to be connected to someone who can help reset your SATTRN password.

SATTRN password expiration policy

Our current SATTRN password expiration window is 120 days. Once your password is expired, you will not be able to log in remotely until you navigate to Alfheim or TCIT Gateway and update your password using the Password Change Utility (if you know your current password). See How to change SATTRN password for a video tutorial on how to do this.

Test for DHS

If your AIO or laptop is working and able to connect to the internet, open your browser and navigate to portal.office.com, then try logging in with your DHS credentials.

If you cannot log in, the problem is with your DHS password.

How to reset DHS password

If you are locked out of your DHS account because you’ve forgotten your password or entered it incorrectly too many times, you will have to contact the OMES Service Desk to reset your password. Try logging in to the Support Portal with your DHS Microsoft 365 email address.

If you cannot access the Support Portal or you’d rather call the OMES Service Desk, the local phone number is 405-521-2444 and the toll-free phone number is 866-521-2444.
