Adapt User's Guide version 4.5

Question Components

Questiomn components are elements in Adapt that ask the user a question and evaluate the response. Question components can be used in an Assessment.

The presentation components are all listed in the menu to the left and include details on the settings for the component as well as some guidance on when to use the component and how it will behave on various devices and screen sizes.

Common Settings

Question components have a few settings in common that appear in all components and function the same. There is quite a bit of overlap with Presentation Components, so the less interesting properties are omitted here:

This is the title of the component as it will appear in the course. You can remove the component by clicking the “X” icon to the right of the Display Title.

This is optional rich-text that appears just above the component itself.

This is an optional line of instruction to the learner.

The number of times the user can attempt the question correctly before it is locked and cannot be answered.

If the learner answers incorrectly, displays a button that allows the learner to toggle between highlighting the correct answer and their answer.

Displays a checkmark next to any correct responses and an x-mark next to any incorrect responses.

Displays a block at the bottom of the component listing the number of attempts remaining to the learner to answer the question correctly.

If this option is disabled, the response will not be saved to the LMS. Note that enabling this option without the Spoor component has no effect.

Sets the weight of this question when used with the Assessment extension.

This section contains the various feedback text used for the component. Note that some components allow these values to be overridden with response-specific values. These options are ignored if there is no feedback extension installed, such as Tutor.
